1. What do you mean here by ‘Plug-in’?
‘Plug-in’ describes a small software application that can be added to your main application, such as Roxio Creator, to enhance its capabilities; it does not include hardware.
2. Can I use Creator to make a backup copy of a Blu-ray movie disc?
Creator can make a backup copy of any Blu-ray data or movie disc, as long as the disc is not copy protected or encrypted. Note that most commercial Blu-ray movie discs are protected and cannot be copied.
3. Can I burn standard definition video onto a Blu-ray disc?
Yes, a 25GB Blu-ray disc can hold more than 12 hours of standard-definition video.
4. Can I burn high-definition content on a standard recordable DVD disc?
Yes, you can record high-definition content on a standard recordable DVD media by creating an AVCHD disc. AVCHD discs are playable on a Sony PlayStation 3 and many Blu-ray disc players. AVCHD discs will not play on standard DVD players. You may record up to 30 minutes of high-definition video on a single layer DVD media.
5. What is the difference between ‘copying’ and ‘authoring’?
Copying is simply duplicating the content of one disc onto another. This content can be either data or video. Authoring means that you are creating or modifying a disc with video content to be played on a DVD or BD player.
6. Can I convert video from a Blu-ray disc to other video formats?
Roxio Creator enables you to convert the video from a Blu-ray disc to many other formats, provided the Blu-ray disc is not protected or encrypted.
7. Does it take much longer to burn a Blu-ray disc, than a normal DVD disc?
For a given amount of data to be burnt, the time it takes to burn it on disc depends on the speed of the drive for the type of disc. The table below gives the equivalent speed between different disc formats.
