The MediaTicker Interface

Startup and Loading

When MediaTicker starts, the Ticker Window appears. If this is the first time you’ve launched MediaTicker, the application will spend a few moments loading pre-installed content.

Once the preloaded content is found, you’re ready to start enjoying MediaTicker.

The Main Ticker Window

The Ticker Window contains the following components:

  • Title Bar – close and minimize the ticker, and visit the Options window
  • Main Ticker Area – displays picture thumbnails and text headlines as specified in the Options window
  • Tooltips – mouse-over any ticker item to see details about it
  • System Tray Icon – shows you when MediaTicker is running and displays context menu when clicked

MediaTicker commands can be accessed through the interface available at the upper left of the ticker. There are three common commands that can be used here: Options, Help, and Close to Tray.

  • Options icon opens the Options page.
  • Help icon opens this help file.
  • Close to Tray icon closes the ticker, but the program remains active in the system tray.
Close MediaTicker
  • "Options" opens the Options page.
  • "Registration" goes to the Roxio product registration site.
  • "Go to Roxio Labs…" goes to the RoxioLabs website.
  • "About MediaTicker…" displays the About Box with copyright and build information.
  • "Feedback" will take you to the Roxio Labs feedback web form.
  • Close MediaTicker closes the ticker, but the program remains active in the system tray.
  • Exit exits the program completely.

When you close the MediaTicker display, it stays running in the system tray (lower right-hand corner in the Windows task bar.) You can double-click on the system tray icon to open MediaTicker again, or single-click to open the menu.
